Review: Second Avenue is finally tipping its hat to the intrigue of the downtown scene with Mantra, the chic, sexy, new lounge conveniently located in Midtown East. Boasting a sleek, ambience created by designer Peter Sibilia, it's both a restaurant and lounge that manages to blend all the bells and whistles of minimalist decor into a spacious 3,500 square foot space. The bi-level space delights patrons with bright Neo-classical screened paper walls, black lacquered bamboo furniture, plush couches, ultra modern white accents and an exquisite glass frontage that looks out onto envious revelers below. A menu of Asian-fusion hors d'oeuvres is available, as well as sumptuous signature cocktails worthy of impressing even the biggest food and drink connoisseurs.
