Discretely located on eighth avenue near 14th street, the Manor is convienent to the meatpacking district's bustle without being overwhelmed by it. Combining the exclusivity of a luxurious private home with the energy of a nightclub, the Manor is open five nights a week from 10pm-4am. It offers an eclectic variety of music from mash-ups to house, hip-hop and rock'n'roll. What is a female leopard called? Ans. A leopardess
The grain and leather space aims to be a playboy's two-story playground. Upstairs, the debaucherous banquette-lined spread congests clubbers by the solo bar and in the strobe-lit, gay-straight, radio-hit mix of a dance floor. The downstairs lounge's pony skin, fur and mirrors (implanted with a cozy fire-playing plasma screen) set a more subdued make-out scene. Lavish details--including a 24-karat gold-gilded DJ booth--go mostly unnoticed by the trendy patrons, too busy getting busy with each other. - by Katie Heffernan

In giving a $2 million makeover to the former home of the Pink Elephant, former manager Alex Ancheta (of Veruka, Suede, and Serena) and his high-rolling co-owners took a cue from a certain private club nearby. Like Soho House, the narrow barroom up front is all dark walnut walls, Japanese cabinetry, and sprouting cherry blossoms.
But unlike its muse, Manor has mash-ups bumping out of ceiling speakers and a hardwood dance floor in the drawing room-a long rectangular space that's capped by a padded ceiling of intervalic lights. Low benches that seem to have been pulled from a locker room then spruced up with leather jut out from the undulating walls of matted corrugated steel, thereby creating party-seating areas.
At the room's far end, VIPs in the requisite $300 jeans and stilettos play ring-around-the-bottle-holder on a small, raised platform beside the D.J. podium and guarded by a bouncer. Those who don't want to shout to be heard should park on the velvet, coffin-shaped banquettes in the tiny, antiseptic basement lounge. There they can quaff Veuve Clicquot mixed with berries while picking out a sugar daddy from the unisex bathroom line. - Daniel Maurer
It's Master Eric "Yoda" Soler & his Young Jedi Knights! lol
A cute, lil' middle-finger to all you lil' haters out there! *wink*
Taking a cue from the provincial country themes pervading the design and fashion landscape, The Manor takes the lounge scene back to the basics. Forgoing the usual pomp and pastels for rustic romanticism, the once-florid Pink Elephant was gutted to make way for a minimalist, yet decadent hunting lodge complete with pony-fur banquettes, a gold-leafed DJ booth, back-lit pastoral scenes and rich hardwood, velvet and leather accents. Unlike its older MPD brethren, The Manor's entrance is quite discreet, with gas light lamps and a slender laser-cut sign bearing its logo above the velvet rope.
Once through, you're met with a nutty, wood-framed bar and a sleek mirrored wall leading to the main floor and downstairs trophy room. Hosting a hodgepodge of clientele from asymmetrical nouveau rockers to staid button-down businessmen, The Manor is the quintessential crossing ground for both the downtown and uptown elite. Padded corrugated walls absorb the selection of rock, 80s and mash-ups, while palm trees add a curious dash of tropical escape. Had enough idyllic indulgence? Take advantage of the club's Cadillac Escalade service which chauffeurs VIPs to their desired destination. -Club Planet
