Thursday's "Night Party" @ GYPSY TEA Review: Posh club in the Flatiron District with an emphasis on bottle service. Bouncers guard the entrance to this two-level club. Hip-hop and rock pump out of the Phazon sound system in the modern-feeling main room, with banquette-like seating and some room to dance. A separate DJ spins house upstairs, where there's more bottle-service seating and a dramatic tiled bar. A fish tank amuses those in the VIP section, who lounge on ornate velvet-covered chairs. Thursday's "Night Event" @ ROCK CANDY Review: The crowd makes the most of this Flatiron club's dance floor. There's a kind of hyper-exuberance to the gyrating masses at this dance club, perhaps in response to weathering the long line to get inside. The two bars, raised VIP area, thumping hip-hop music, and giant disco ball with its colorful shifting patterns all fit the ultra-trendy image, but admittance has more to do with being on the right promoter list than looking or dressing the part. -MSN Citysearch
